Pink Fest is a commercial festival that has been celebrating Global Pride Month in Singapore since 2018. We are dedicated to engaging lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ), allies and inclusive businesses through a program of arts, culture and lifestyle events.

Our vision is to inspire, entertain and inform festival goers by creating a safe, supportive and inclusive ecosystem that benefits all citizens and residents of Singapore.

Pasar Pink

Pasar Pink is Pink Fest’s official inclusive social market. In 2021, inclusive merchants can reach LGBTQ communities and allies over Pride Month (June) in a Pasar Pink Pop Up.

Pasar Pink Pop-Up will be virtual this year to comply with control order provisions.

Pasar Pink Pop-Up will be help over three (3) Saturdays in June:
– June 5, 19 and 26: Virtual pop-up

Pasar Pink Pop-Up will operate online in 2021 with a virtual pop-up on pinkfest.sg

All Pasar Pink Pop-Up merchants must be committed to inclusion. Merchants can be LGBTQ-owned/operated or ally-owned/operated businesses. Shortlisted merchants will be invited to sign the Pink Fest Pledge for inclusivity upon confirmation.

To participate in Pasar Pink Pop-Up 2021 all merchants are required to offer digital payments to customers (e.g. PayNow, credit cards or other).

The merchants operating in the following categories are invited to sell at Pasar Pink

Pop-Up:

  1. Pride gear (pins, pink lights, t-shirts, stickers, other LGBTQ-related merchandise, etc)
  2. Arts (music, books, etc)
  3. Culture (crafts, etc)
  4. Home (homewares, gardening, pets, interior design, cooking, etc)
  5. Food & Beverage (cooking, baking, etc); food seller of pre-packed, NEA-certified food only. No cooking on-site permitted; beverage sellers of non-alcoholic beverages only
  6. Fitness (sports, yoga, running, crossfit, massage, etc)
  7. Mind (mental health, meditation, spirituality, etc)
  8. Life (coaching, relationships, intimacy, personal development, personal finances)
  9. Geek culture (tabletop games, video games, anime, manga, cosplay, comics/graphic novels, books, poetry, vintage memorabilia, etc)
  10. Tech (gadgets, hardware, software, coding, etc)
No fees for virtual selling during Pasar Pink Pop-Up

Proud Pet Parade

The Proud Pet Parade is the theme of a Pasar Pink Virtual Pop-Up to be held on 19 June. It will be an opportunity for pets and their owners to showcase their talent to the LGBTQ community in Singapore and allies. Entrants are invited to showcase their pet presentation and/or technical skills according to predefined show categories. Independent judges will select a winner and runner up for each category based on the ability of the entrants. Pasar Pink Virtual Pop-Up is a signature event of Pink Fest 2021.

Since live entertainment in front of an in-person audience at Pasar Pink Pop-Up is not an option during the Covid 19 pandemic, Pink Fest has created a fun way for communities to engage with Pasar Pink’s pop-up themes while being introduced to inclusive businesses in Singapore.

No. Proud Pet Parade 2021 is a 100-percent virtual event.

All entries must be recorded independently and submitted in advance via the Video Submission Form. Finalists will be shortlisted by the Pasar Pink organisers and a compilation of submitted video clips from finalists will be streamed live via the web during Pasar Pink Pop-Up on 5 June. An independent panel of judges will adjudicate the competition remotely while adhering to the Covid 19 Control Order safety measures.

In the spirit of inclusion, the Proud Pet Parade 2021 is open to all pet owners. Entries from persons under 18 years old are welcome with consent from parents / legal guardian. Submissions from outside Singapore are welcome. However eligibility for prizes is limited to Singapore residents due to overseas shipping constraints.

For the purpose of the Proud Pet Parade 2021, Singapore residents are defined as Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PR), student pass holders, foreign employment work pass holders, long term visit pass holders and dependents residing in Singapore between 1 April 2021 to 30 June 2021.

An entry fee of $8 enables a single entrant to submit entries into multiple Proud Pet Parade categories. Pink Fest will use entry fees to defray costs associated with producing Pasar Pink Pop-Up and Pink Fest 2021.

Yes, on condition that entrants pay the entry fee and submit videos for each category via Video Submission Form. Every category entered requires a separate video with supporting information.

All entries must submit the following:

  • Contact details via the Entry Form
  • Details of category(s) selected via the Video Submission form
  • Video submission (MP4 or MOV format only; files sent directly from mobile device are acceptable) via the Video Submission.
  • Acceptance of terms and conditions of the show.

Videos must be taken by the participant from 1 May 2021 to 11 June 2021. These dates apply to all videos submitted. Participants must acknowledge that they are the creator and own the copyrights of the submitted videos upon submission.

Videos must be shot with Safe Management Measures (SMM) taken into consideration.

All video entries must follow these specifications:

Submission deadline
The deadline for Proud Pet Parade Entry Form closes at 12:00pm, Monday 14 June. Only entrants who have paid the entry fee get access to the Video Submission Form. Late entry forms or video submission will not be accepted.

Video Quality & Resolution
Video can be shot on any device in landscape or portrait orientation. Aspect ratio: 4:3 or 16:9. Resolution: HD (1280 x 720 px) or FHD (1920 x 1080 px). Videos shot on mobile phones should suffice.

File Format & Size
Files must be uploaded as MP4 (*.mp4) or MOV (*.mov) only. Video durations must adhere to specifications of each category. Videos that exceed the category specifications will not be accepted. Slideshows and photo collages will not be accepted.

Editing & Graphics
Minor editing (for brightness and contrast) to photos is allowed. Videos that are modified with image editing software or equivalent programs are allowed.

No watermarks, borders or signatures are permitted. Videos containing watermarks (including video credits) and Augmented Reality (AR) effects apps will not be accepted.

Inappropriate Content
Videos must not contain any image that are deemed indecent, blasphemous, libellous, offensive, pornographic, racially insensitive, demonstrate support for or opposition to the views or actions of any person, group of persons or any government; publicise a cause or campaign; mark or commemorate any event; or, otherwise unlawful or depict any inappropriate activity. Pink Fest reserves the rights to reject any entry that is deemed to be inappropriate for the purpose of the Proud Pet Parade 2021.

New Content
Entries must not have been previously submitted for other competitions or accepted for broadcast through any public media (e.g. internet, radio, television).

Entries must not be concurrently submitted for other competitions, broadcast, social media or otherwise made public, until the results of the Proud Pet Parade 2021 are announced.

Permission & Copyright
All participants are responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the rights of persons depicted in videos, including but not limited to obtaining their permission. Participants are responsible for resolving legal issues arising from their works, if any.

Pink Fest encourages all participants to secure explicit consent from persons depicted in videos, if any. Be sure to inform persons depicted about the purpose of the video and that the video will be shared with Pink Fest. If persons depicted are under the age of 18 years old, please ask for consent from their parents or legal guardian.

If music is used in video submissions, the entrant must have the rights to do so. Entrants can create their own music. Or seek permission from the owner of the original composition intended for use. If copyright-free music is used, check the user agreement and media usage policy and ensure that the music can be used without copyright restrictions.

Participants must ensure that there is no plagiarism or violation of copyrighted work.

By submitting videos to Pink Fest, the entrant reserves the rights to their videos while granting Pink Fest a license to use the video and other materials submitted with entries, in full or partially, to advertise, publicise, in various media of its choosing, including, but not limited to, newspapers, magazines, publications, radio, television, public screenings and any other electronic media including, but not limited to the Internet, or other purposes in a manner it deems fit to promote Pink Fest.

Pink Fest reserves the right to publicise the photos or videos in this contest on its social media channels and/or other public-facing programmes, events or platforms for communications and outreach purposes beyond Pasar Pink Pop-Up 2021.

Pink Fest will engage an independent panel of judges to determine the winners of the Proud Pet Parade. The decision of the judging panel is final.

Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: 40% technical quality, 40% level of creativity interpreting the category; and, 20% degree of difficulty.

A winner may be disqualified if their entry is found to breach the terms and conditions of Proud Pet Parade 2021.

In the event that any winner is disqualified from the contest, Pink Fest, at its sole discretion, may decide whether a replacement winner should be selected. In this event, any further winner will be selected on the same criteria as set out in the Terms and Conditions. Pink Fest can repeat this process any number of times until it has selected a satisfactory winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Queers' Got Talent

Queers’ Got Talent is the theme of a Pasar Pink Virtual Pop-Up to be held on 26 June. It is an opportunity to showcase the hidden talents of the LGBTQ community and allies in Singapore. Entrants are invited to showcase their skills according to predefined categories. Independent judges will select a winner and runner up for each category based on the ability of the entrants. Pasar Pink Virtual Pop-Up is a signature event of Pink Fest 2021.
